In Style.., To Defend Honour.
“It is not titles that honour men, but the men who honour titles.” — Niccolo Machiavelli
That sleek ONE Fighting Championship invitation lost its way before I have the honour to hold it in my hands; couple hours prior to the event. Obviously being Pesh, I had my style fit planned out for the occasion and already in the midst of dressing up. The funny part was how I’d assumed it was a black tie dress code and convinced myself ‘Chic & Classy’ (as stated on the invite) somehow meant… the same? Guessed I probably just really like to play dress up 😀 Anyway, I did overdress, but it was not at all ridiculous that the soft and glittery sequinned gown from Style Lease arouses my excitement. Plus, the pleasure to be chauffeured around in a limousine ensured my arrival was in full style and grace. So, dressed to the nines seemed right!
A mesmerizing opening act by Singapore’s pride and glory, Nathan Hartono. Followed by a night of roaring cheers surrounded the alluring cage, where ripped bodies showcased expressions of strength, skills, and strategies.
Apart from the showdown, I particularly like moments where friendly gestures were exchanged between two warriors post-fight. Although, yes, a hundred years cannot repair a moment’s loss of honor, but after all, it is not the title that honored the men. It is, instead, these men who truly honored the titles and their opponents. I believe good sportsmanship and friendship in every competition breeds excellence. Such heartwarming scenarios not only elevated the value of participants and the reputation of the sport and event, also the passionately supportive fans and spectators.
So grateful that Style Lease was able to accommodate me for a closet fitting at the very last minute. Lovin’ every moment in this amazing dress. Perfectly paired with this Swarovski EPIFIRNY statement necklaces, hand-fabricated by yours truly. This would be my very own way to defend and honour style, by always making the choice to dress well as a form of respect. Regardless, it’s always better to be overdressed than underdressed!
